Bonifacio :
A city with a thousand years behind it, looks down from the top of its cliffs and is the southernmost city in Corsica. It is a very special city, in terms of both its history and its geography—which defies imagination.
Bonifacio is built on a natural promontory, and the old town, perched on its high chalk cliffs, faces nearby Sardinia and looks down on the Strait of Bonifacio, an international channel.
The city's sailing port has developed its available space wisely, preserving its picturesque Mediterranean character. The port can accommodate 400 vessels.
The terraces of the port's numerous bars, ice cream parlours, restaurants and shops invite you to enjoy their enchanting settings, rocked by the soft murmur of the surf.
The coast :
The coast of the southernmost tip of Corsica, from Solenzara to Roccapina, offers a variety of seascapes of unequalled beauty.
Seemingly endless sandy beaches alternate harmoniously with pine forests, dunes, inlets accessible only by boat and deep bays bathed in crystalline waters of changing hues.
The backcountry :
The surprising thing about Corsica is the variety of its landscapes.
All of nature's wonders are concentrated on this ravishing, multi-faceted island.
Very near here, just a few kilometres from the sea, are sumptuous mountain ranges offering their majestic beauty and admirable forests to all seekers of beauty, and providing a place for discovery and adventure for all levels of hikers.
